Please be aware although there is no deadline to apply, the sooner your application is received, the better your chances are of being accepted. The mandatory training is just that: mandatory. All counselors, new and returning, must attend the training session.

Most counselors are 14 years old by July 1. Counselors will need to provide their own transportation to and from Camp SOAR. Everyone must have received a tetanus shot no earlier than 2013, often referred to as TDap or DTaP on most immunization records.

Returning counselors are needed to help organize supplies and cabins as well as assist new counselors learn how to create a fun and safe atmosphere for the incoming campers. Training day also provides a chance to meet all of your wonderful fellow counselors who help make Camp SOAR such a terrific experience for everyone: campers, counselors, and staff.
