Camp Fees

Summer Session - $475

Camp fees apply to campers only; there is no fee for counselors. Each year, a limited amount of donated funds are available for full or partial camper scholarships to the summer sessions. Please contact the CRT office to request a scholarship application.

Camper Applications

Please call 312-726-4011 or email to request a new camper application or additional information. New camper acceptance is a two-step process: an initial phone screening is followed by a review of the completed application by a CRT child development specialist. Due to the high demand for placement, campers may only attend one summer session each year. Camp applications are available at the end of January.

All returning age-appropriate campers will be automatically mailed a current camp application in January. Completed camp applications must be returned by US mail; faxed or emailed applications will NOT be accepted. Spaces fill quickly, don't wait to mail your child's camp application.

Counselor Applications

All counselors are volunteers.  No compensation is received other than the knowledge you have participated in a life-changing experience and have helped a special needs child enjoy a week of fun summer activities. You must be 15 years old by the start of camp. Counselor’s volunteer time may be applied to service hours for school and religious purposes. Counselors may volunteer for either week or both weeks, but must commit to the full session and attend training. For more information and a counselor application, please click the Counselor Application and Expectations of a Camp SOAR Counselor.

Applying to be a counselor? Don’t wait:

For each session, we will accept 80 counselors. Some will be one-on-one with a camper, others will be on activities and leadership positions.

Ladies: Keep in mind there are always more female counselors than needed so don’t wait to get your application in to us. Along with experience, we take into account when your application is received.

Guys: We can’t accept camper boys over the age of 12 until we know you will be there for sure. Please get your applications in as soon as possible.

We swim in Geneva Lake, which is a popular fishing lake. Everyone MUST have received a tetanus shot no earlier than 2009. Please include the date of your vaccine on your application.

We have current physicals on file for many returning counselors; ask us if you are unsure if you need an updated one. You can apply without sending a physical.
